Join Mothers Day tea on Sunday, May 11

COMMUNITY CHURCH

Community Church will host a Mother’s Day tea this Sunday, May 11, immediately following the 9:50 a.m. Sunday worship service. A proper Mother’s Day tea with finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, and sweet treats served in the Edgar Fellowship Hall, to honor women. Call 562-431-2503 for information.

Those who have been in the church for some time may be able to list some or all of the 12 disciples, but what about those who came after them? What about the women who were not only disciples, but also the first apostles—the first sent out by Jesus? Pastor Johan Dodge will cover these women with a sermon titled “Women Rising Up.”

Community Church is a place where everyone is welcome, provided they are willing to be part of the community. It does not welcome hate, bigotry, sexism, or homophobia. All are welcome who are welcoming to all.

Residents are invited to come to “Coffee with the Pastor” on Thursdays at 10 a.m. This is an informal opportunity for those who want to meet Pastor Johan Dodge.

Community Church holds worship services on Sunday mornings at 9:50 at 14000 Church Place near St. Andrews Gate. All are welcome.
