Assembly of God Assembly of God

Leisure World Assembly of God meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby.

The universal truth that “actions speak louder than words” has been handed down through generations. Jesus taught this truth by telling the story of two brothers: one who paid lip service to his father but didn’t follow through, and one who did not affirm his father’s request verbally but later carried out his father’s instructions. Jesus then asked his followers who was the obedient son. Verbal assent is not what God requires. God looks at the heart and one’s actions in determining obedience. Pastor Chuck Franco will present sermon titled “Two Sons” based on Matthew 21:28-32 on Sunday, Oct. 11.

The Bible study begins a new series on Wednesday, Oct. 14. The book of Leviticus is packed with sacrifices, priests, purity laws and a plethora of detailed instructions to be followed with precision. But from a high perspective, God has made a way for his people to dwell in holiness. The rules are not intended for restriction but to allow freedom. Ultimately, it is not following the law that saves, it is Jesus, through grace.
