Sunshine Club
The Sunshine Club will not meet on Friday, Sept. 4, due to the GRF new sound system installation in Clubhouse 3.
The Sunshine Club was established in January 2012 with the mission of “Building Bridges for a Brighter Leisure World.” The club strives to provide Leisure World residents with information from guest speakers specializing in fields such as finance, safety, real estate, and medicine, as well as administrative leaders from within the community.
Since 2013, the club has supported the Golden Age Foundation as its primary charity. Through fundraising events like their annual rummage sale and day trips, the club has donated a total of $11,970 to the foundation.
The speaker lineup for September is as follows:
• Sept. 11: Dr. Shadi Vahadt, “Building the Roadmap to Hospital Care”
• Sept. 18: GRF Executive Director David Norvell
• Sept. 25: City of Seal Beach Chaplain Sister Eymard Flood The Sunshine Club meets every Friday from 10 a.m.-noon in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, with refreshments served.
