LW Baptist Church meets for worship on Sundays at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

Sundays are a reminder that worship must come from a heart of faith in God. The second generation of Israel that Moses led to the Jordan River border of the Promised Land was a faith generation like no other in all of Israel’s 3,000 year history.

Jesus referred to justice, mercy and faithfulness, and called these the weightier matters of God’s law, the Bible. These are the very matters Moses presents to Israel in the book of Deuteronomy. He speaks of divine institutions, including family, life itself, justice and charity. Charity toward those in need is meant as a genuine expression of brotherly love. Human justice is to reflect the perfect justice of God himself.

The value of human life appears especially in this, that each and every person is made in God’s image and likeness. Family is a picture of Christ and the church, the bridegroom and the bride.

God calls those who worship him to practice these weighty matters in their treatment of their fellow human. In a word, believers are to live as children of light in a dark world.
