Shuf. eboard Club annual barbecue is Aug. 8
Members of the Shuffleboard Club will gather Aug. 8 for the club’s annual barbecue at 5 p.m. in the Clubhouse 1 picnic area to connect with fellow members, catch up on summer activities and look forward to the approaching league season.
Sue and Minda Burkschab will cook their famous smoked tri-tip as the main dish. Members are asked to sign up for side dishes. Sign-up sheets are at the courts.
The club would like to acknowledge two remarkable members who have become indispensable pillars of the club over the past three years: Sue and Minda Burkschab. Their unwavering enthusiasm and dedication have profoundly enriched the community, fostering a more vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for everyone, and even encouraging new friendships to blossom within the ranks.
Sue, with her infectious energy, has gracefully taken on the vital role of captain. Her leadership extends beyond just orchestrating games; she ensures every player feels included, supported, and most importantly, has an absolute blast on the court. She’s truly a champion of good sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Equally invaluable is Minda, the resident culinary magician. Her legendary tri-tip, expertly prepared for club picnics, has become a highlight, consistently delighting 45-50 hungry members with its irresistible flavor. But Minda’s generosity doesn’t stop there; she’s always the first to step up, offering her time and talents to assist whenever a captain needs a helping hand, ensuring events run smoothly and joyfully.
Beyond their official contributions, both Sue and Minda embody the true spirit of the club through their incredible compassion and unwavering support for their fellow members. Whether it’s providing thoughtful assistance during challenging times or simply sharing a delicious home-cooked meal, their genuine care and readiness to help have woven a stronger, more supportive fabric within the club. Their presence is a true gift, elevating the collective experience in countless ways.
Speaking of engaging with the community, open play sessions are held on Monday mornings from 9-11, and Tuesday evenings from 6-9.
