LW Baptist Church

LW Baptist Church meets for worship Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

On Sunday, Oct. 4, the congregation will give thanks to God that the Gospel is for all nations. The gospel hymn personalizes each individual’s need of salvation in its title, “Rock of Ages Cleft For Me.” God’s word says, “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Preaching the gospel, Jesus spoke of himself as Israel’s “Rock of Salvation,” a term Moses used for God and faulting Israel for rejecting him. Jesus quotes then Psalm 118, “The stone which the builders rejected, this became the Chief Cornerstone.” Jesus invites all people to build their lives upon him as the sure foundation.
