The Tournament Poker Club invites anyone who would like to play a fun and friendly game of Texas Hold ‘Em for a $5 buy-in to play in Clubhouse 6 on the first three Saturdays of every month, with coffee, treats and registration at 10 a.m. Cards are in the air at 10:30. There is no late seating. Note that there will be no regular tournament on Sept. 19 due to the GRF swap meet being held in the parking lot that day.

On Sept. 5 there were about 60 participants eager to play an exciting game of Texas Hold ‘Em after a couple of weeks off. High hand winners were: Renate Watkins, a 5-9 diamonds straight flush; Patricia Hallock with 10-10-10-10-8, and George Casto and Harold Morehead who split the final prize when they both had 9-9-99-A. Harry Nichols won a prize for playing and winning with the promo hand of 9-5. As the winners of their original table, the final table players were: Susan Dodson, first place; Tony Canfora, second; George Casto, third; Ric Enge, fourth; Bob Konier, fifth; Joseph Wierzbicki, sixth; Linda McDermott seventh; Jeff Rolnick, eighth.

Dodson has lived in Leisure World for 21 years and been a member of the club for 16 years. She has been a board member, dealer and participant in the club during that time. This was her 12th final table win. Dodson plays in several card groups here in Leisure World and is also an avid reader who likes studying other languages.
