Seniors for Peace

The Seniors for Peace Club will meet on Thursday, Aug.

6, at 2 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Featured speaker and President of the Leisure World Cares Fund Nick Massetti will show a short video on women at risk for homelessness. After the video, he will discuss the fund, which he founded in 2024.

Massetti created the fund to try a new approach to address the impact of rising HOA fees on residents who are on fixed incomes by providing them with a cash subsidy of $200 for 12 months.

Massetti retired to Leisure World in 2016 from a career in electronic technology engineering. Almost immediately, he began serving on his Mutual 17 board and the GRF Board, where he still serves. From his participation on these boards it became clear to him that artificially keeping HOA fee rises small by not funding necessary costs was not sustainable and something needed to be done to prevent those on fixed incomes from being priced out of Leisure World.
