LW Men’s Golf League

Eight members of the Leisure World Men’s Golf League met at the River View Golf Course in Santa Ana on Sept. 28. This is the time of year that local courses punch and sand their greens, causing altered league play. The league got in front of the workers on the week’s round and only experienced one hole where the greens were not accessible.

All of the golfers scored net under par with an exceptional 62 by Tom Ross, a 64 by Clay Fisher, and a 6 under 66 by Jim Goltra.

There were four birdies— two each by Goltra and Fisher. The two closest to the pin challenges were won by Dave LaCascia and Fisher. Goltra and Randy Massaro had fewest putts for the round.

The league plays every Monday at four local courses, all within 15-20 minutes of Leisure World. Advance league reservations are required.

There is a prize pool for each round that players are not obligated to enter. Those interested in playing can contact Gary Stivers at 714-313-3697 or Dave LaCascia at 801-674-5974.
