First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

Sin is an unpopular subject for many people. Yet people often sin, ask forgiveness and then repeat the same behavior. Some churchgoers seek out and expose others’ sins in order to judge them. However, sinners come from every walk of life.

During his earthly ministry, Jesus encountered many sinners. On one occasion, church leaders brought him a woman caught in adultery. Jesus told them, “If any among you is without sin, let him cast a stone at the woman.” One by one, the men left without throwing a stone. Jesus then asked the woman, “Where are your accusers?” She replied, “No one remained, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go thy way, and from now on sin no more.”

This encounter shows that all people are sinners and that no one should judge another. The leaders brought the woman to Jesus for judgment, but instead of condemning her, he told her to leave and sin no more. The greater wrong is continuing in sin.
