LW Men’s Golf Club
Fifty-four men of the LW Men’s Golf Club played at the Turtle Lake Golf Course on Sept. 23. The round was complicated by using the blue rear tees on the front nine, and the red forward tees on the back.
The course continued to suffer from the recent summer heat with bare spots in the fairways and chewed up tee boxes.
The golfers teed off with each man competing for best net scores, four circle holes and two closest to the pin challenges. Twenty-two of the 54 men scored net at or under par and there were 49 birdies and 10 circle hole winners.
Closest to the pin on the 85-yard hole No. 6 was Walter Kim at 6 feet 10 inches, and on the 67-yard No. 15 it was Dennis McMonigle at 7 feet 11 inches.
Average net score for the round was 58.4. Low net score for the round was Dave LaCascia and Jae H. Lee at 5 under par 49, followed by four players at 4 under 50. Low gross for the round was Jae Choi at 2 over 56, followed Gene Archambault at 3 over 57.
