Blessing of the Animals at Community

Church is Oct. 4

See page 10 COMMUNITY CHURCH

Community Church will hold a Blessing of the Animals service on Sunday, Oct. 4, inside the church at 14000 Church Place at 9:30 a.m. This will be the first time the church will hold the blessing service in the sanctuary with the new stateof- the-art video.

In years past, some people have chosen to leave their pet at home and instead bring in a photograph of their furry companion to receive a blessing. People are welcome to do the same this year.

To participate in the Blessing of the Animals, all pet owners must acknowledge that they are responsible for the behavior and care of their pet.

Rev. Johan Dodge will continue his series titled “Season of Creation” with a look at the “monsters,” with a nod to the beginning of October.

All Saints Sunday is held on Nov. 1 this year. Those who have lost a loved one and would like to have their name read aloud should let church leadership know in the coming weeks.

The church meets every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at 14000 Church Place. People can also join the Community Church Leisure World Facebook page to watch past sermons. Call 562431-2503 for more information.
