Photograph leaves for Oct. 8 meeting

PHOTO ARTS CLUB

The Photo Arts Club will meet Oct. 8 in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, at 1:30 p.m. The assignment is to photograph leaves. Photographers should submit their best three photos by Oct. 5 to Ben Benjamins at benbenjamins@hotmail.com. People can also bring photos of their choice to be displayed and commented on.

Ziggy Romano will teach people editing techniques and answer iPhone and camera-related questions today, Sept. 24, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 3. These meetings are held regularly on the fourth Thursdays.

At the Sept. 12 meeting, President Regine Schumacher encouraged people to sign in and add their email address if they had not been receiving notifications. The members had submitted very excellent and creative photos of hats—the photo assignment for the month—which were displayed the big-screen TV. As they were shown, members discussed each photo and made suggestions. Some pointed out that the subject matter could be shown in different ways, i.e. hat in foreground with appropriate background to tell a story; the use of interesting lighting; using different angles; or creating contrast with dark and light and to show texture.

During club meetings, individuals with technical or other questions will be paired with someone who can help them for individual discussion. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Schumacher at 562-430-7978. •••
