Wa-Rite meets Fridays in CH 3
Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $ 10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. For support on a weight-loss journey, women are welcome to stop by at 8:15 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork.
On Sept. 4, members were held accountable for what they did and did not accomplish in the previous month. Wa-Rite’s Recordkeeper Henrietta Peavy shared that the club lost a total of 15.5 pounds for the week with two biggest losers—Judy Chambers and Mary Kay Sherman with 2.5-pound loss each. Chambers said she drank a lot of water and cut out sweets. Sherman said having more protein, eating earlier in the day and skipping dinner was the secret to her success.
For the month, members lost 52 pounds. Susan Miller lost 5 pounds and was named queen of the month. Three members who lost the most weight were: Linda Nye, 5.5 pounds; Susan Miller, 5 pounds, and Mary Pompi, 5 pounds. Members attending every week with no gain were Miller and Jeanette Williams. Julie Campbell was the only member who reached her masters of goal weight.
The weekly food for thought was: “Fake it until you make it.
Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”
