AuthorSpeak with Lisa See: Oct. 2

The LW Library will hold the final AuthorSpeak event of 2026 at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, in Clubhouse 4. Beloved author and multiple New York Times instant bestselling author Lisa See will speak about her newest book, “Daughters of the Sun and Moon.”

The novel follows three Chinese women who arrive amidst the backdrop of a postcivil war Los Angeles in 1870. Dove, Petal and Moon are brought together by hardship and heartbreak, and they must use their bravery, endurance, and ability to “eat bitterness” to discover their voices, find freedom and connect through solace and friendship.

The presentation begins promptly at 11 a.m. This event may reach capacity; arrive early to find parking and seating. Residents are encouraged to walk or request a ride from GRF’s on-call shuttle bus by calling 562-472-1367. Light refreshments will be provided by the library. Books will be available for purchase.
