songs are added to the class.
The beginner class is currently learning “Hawaiian Lullaby.” Dancers will later join the old-timers in “Malie’s Song” by Keali’i Reichel, so both the newer and longtime dancers can hula to the medley together. Anyone would like to hear the song can search YouTube for Malie’s Song / Hawaiian Lullaby by Keali’i Reichel. The recording appears on Reichel’s 1997 album “E O Mai.”
Next subject is “Ka Loke” (“The Rose”). Its lyrics use the rose as a symbol for a loved one. All are welcome to learn.
