Hula dancers prepare for their busiest season: the holidays

Hui O Hula offers two hula classes each week. Free classes are open to both beginners and experienced dancers. New participants are welcome.

Lessons are held on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. in the Clubhouse 6 upstairs Mirror Room and Thursdays at 1 p.m. in the Optum Health Care Center conference room next to the pharmacy.

Today, Sept. 3, class will meet at Veterans Plaza at 1 p.m. The regular conference room will be used for the Optum flu clinic that day (see page 15). Thursday classes will return to the regular location after Sept. 3. For more information about the dance class, call or text 562-338-1502.

Summer is coming to an end, and Hui O Hula is beginning to prepare for the fall and holiday season. Instructor Jojo Weingart will soon begin introducing traditional Christmas hula.
