LWTai Chi Club
The Leisure World Tai Chi Club meets on Wednesdays in Veterans Plaza at 4 p.m. The Wednesday class is called Soul Tai Chi and led by instructor James “Jimmy” Matthews. The cost of the class is $5. Soul Tai Chi movements are primarily from the qigong style of tai chi.
It is designed to be practical and user-friendly for seniors of all abilities, especially those who are new to tai chi, and enhance strength, focus, harmony and balance.
The club also meets for a free practice ofthe Yang style 24-form tai chi without the instructor on Fridays at 3 p.m. in Clubhouse 6, Room 1, beginning Aug. 14.
The goal of the club is to support healthy aging through the benefits of tai chi to reduce falls, and improve strength, flexibility,] oints health, mental focus and sleep.
