Korean Night cultural showcase is Aug. 15 at Amphitheater
CULTURAL SHOWCASE
The Korean American Association will hold its annual Korean Night cultural showcase in the Amphitheater on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 6 p.m. The event brings together performers, traditional and contemporary music, dance and entertainment. All are welcome.
Broadcast journalist and media personality Beckie Yun, known for hosting programs like “By God's Grace” and “Focus on God,” will emcee the show.
The evening will feature:
• Baritone Jeongho Kim will perform the national anthems of the U.S. and Korea. The acclaimed vocalist is known for his rich operatic voice and extensive concert background. He studied classical vocal music in South Korea and abroad.
• The Korean Drum Club will perform a traditional Samulnori performance featuring “Yeongnam Nongak.”
• Flowering Step Line Dance will perform dynamic line dances to Electric Light Orchestra’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll Is King” and BTS’s “Dynamite.”
• The LW Wind Ensemble will perform instrumental renditions of “The Pink Panther” and “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.”
• The LW Korean American Chorale will perform choral renditions of “Let the Redeemed of the Lord” and “In the Arms of the Lord.”
• The Gloria Autoharp Club will give a heartfelt autoharp performance of “Destined Encounter” and ABBA’s “I Have a Dream.”
• The LW Saxophone Club will showcase soulful saxophone melodies featuring “Friend for a Lifetime” and “Haeundae Love Song.”
• The Korean American Modeling Association will give an elegant fashion show displaying traditional Royal Court costumes.
• Grace Korean Traditional Dance will perform traditional Korean dances featuring “Sogo Chum” and “Gayageum Sanjo.”
• Grand finale: The Women’s Singalong Club will lead a singalong with the audience of “Beautiful Things,” “You Raise Me Up” and “Half Moon.”
Flowering Step Line Dance will perform to "Rock 'n' Roll Is King" and BTS's "Dynamite."
