The LW Democratic Club will meet Wednesday, Aug. 26, with Chris Duncan, Democratic candidate for California State Senate District 36, as its featured speaker in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m.

A former San Clemente mayor and city council member, Duncan spent more than 16 years as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. People can listen to Duncan’s vision for California, including protecting reproductive freedom, strengthening public safety, increasing government transparency, supporting small businesses, and addressing the challenges facing working families at the meeting. People can come early, bring a lunch, and enjoy conversation with fellow Democrats and friends. Light snacks will be served. Duncan will bring yard signs to the meeting.

The Hospitality Booth is open the first Tuesday and the third Thursday of each month. The booth is located outside Clubhouse 6 from 10:30 a.m.12:30 p.m. People can register to vote, update an address, or change their party affiliation with the help of the club’s volunteers. People can also pick up campaign literature, join discussions on current events, and enjoy a welcoming environment to share thoughts with likeminded neighbors. For more information, contact Rachael Lehmberg at rlehmberg815@gmail.com. There will be a very limited number of signs available at the Hospitality Booth on Wednesday, Aug. 19, it will be first come, first-served.

The club thanks those who have already contributed to the club’s fundraiser. The donations power the club’s work: from supporting the Democratic Party of Orange County and its endorsed candidates, to keeping the LW club’s daily operations running smooth. The fundraiser continues to mid-September, so people can still donate.
