LW Community Emergency Response Team LW Community Emergency Response Team

The LW Community Emergency Response Team (LW CERT) safety class will be held on Friday, July 24, at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9.

At the meeting, LW CERT will ask residents, “Do you have enough clean drinking water to last at least seven days in an emergency?”

Following a disaster, clean drinking water may not be available. A person’s regular water source could be cutoff or compromised through contamination. People can prepare by building a supply of water that will meet their family’s needs during an emergency. People will learn how much water each person will need daily and ways to sterilize contaminated water. They’ll also learn how to prepare before and after a disaster, including demonstrations on how to set-up different stations in a unit, from creating a bathroom area to disinfecting items and washing clothes.
