LW Baptist meets for worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. On July 12, the congregation will learn why all people need redemption.

The world is filled with violence. Mankind are lawbreakers and have broken God’s law, the Bible. God’s law is holy, righteous and good. Jesus put it simply; he said that the reason mankind needs redemption is because of peoples’ hardness of heart. He was referring to the law God gave mankind through Moses. Jesus says that Moses wrote of him, Jesus.

The law of Moses pictures the redemption God offers mankind in his son the Lord Jesus Christ. Redemption from sin is pictured in Israel’s sacrifices in Bible times and in the Tabernacle and later in the temple. The psalmist says, “We have thought on Your steadfast love, O God, in the midst of Your temple.”

The hymnist Fanny Crosby wrote, “O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, to every believer the promise of God/The vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.”
