On June 5, the Mutual 6 board and residents, as well as GRF management, celebrated Susan Hopewell’s retirement from the Mutual 6 Board and the GRF Board of Directors. The event took place immediately following Mutual 6’s annual meeting. Hopewell was acknowledged with a standing ovation for her service, commitment and contributions. She was presented a gift and a cake and received many hugs and farewell wishes from fellow residents and GRF management. Mutual 6 also held a raffle, in which Hopewell was one of the lucky winners.
“I wish her well in her future endeavors, and it was an honor and pleasure to serve with her during her GRF presidency,” said Senior Director of Facilities Mark Weaver.
“Susan Hopewell’s dedication and willingness to work collaboratively with all of us have been truly valued,” said Service Maintenance Director Ruben Gonzalez. “I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for her support, professionalism and commitment. I wish her continued success and all the very best in her well-deserved retirement and new endeavors,” added Gonzalez.
Hopewell served on the Mutual 6 board as well as the GRF Board of Directors for the past 10 years. During that time, she chaired and sat on multiple committees and subcommittees and served as 2018-20 GRF vice president and as 2020-22 GRF president. She was also a part of the interim management team leading the community during the search for a new executive director from 2021 to 2022.
The GRF Board, management and staff thank Hopewell for her guidance, leadership and dedication, and wish her health, happiness and joy in this new chapter.
