Mobility Aid Program Mobility Aid Program

The Mobility Aid Program in Clubhouse 6 is one of the Golden Age Foundation’s (GAF) core programs and serves residents who have mobility challenges for free. It provides a variety of equipment designed to promote independence to residents with mobility impairments and decrease the risk of falling.

Each year, the GAF loans approximately 2,500 pieces of equipment to Leisure World shareholders. The office offers five types of mobility aids in a variety of sizes, including wheelchairs, transport chairs, four-wheel rollators with seats, knee rollators and frontwheel walkers.

There are two trained volunteers in the office of Clubhouse 6 Monday-Friday from 9-11 a.m. (except holidays). They provide assistance in choosing the equipment, adjustments, and instruction on proper use.

The GAF asks residents who see mobility aid items with GAF stickers abandoned or left out near the trash to return it to the office located in Clubhouse 6.

For more information about the service or to volunteer, go to www.GoldenAgeFdn.org or call 562-431-9589.
