Pickleball Club
Pickleball Club players engage in competitive play daily at the pickleball courts behind Clubhouse 2.
When not actively playing, this social group comes together for fun. There is a weekly potluck on Friday evenings, and often club members participate in off-site activities. Currently four members of the club are touring Italy. Ron Thompson, Ivan Painschab, Victoria Rogers and Nancy Rader are providing the club with an account of their vacation with regular postings through Team Reach, the club’s outreach communication social media site.
The club offers free lessons weekly to people who want to learn the sport. The class offered on Wednesday, April 29, will be led by Barry Chittem and will focus on drills, advanced positioning and play strategy. The following Wednesday, May 6, is the beginner’s class at 10 a.m. It will cover basic strokes, rules, scoring and strategy. Follow-up classes are offered each Wednesday throughout the month featuring additional skills. Paddles and balls are available. Court shoes are required. Classes are offered at the pickleball courts behind Clubhouse 2. No reservation is required. For more information, contact Jim Thomason at 626-482-3005.
