Friends of the Library Bookstore

The Friends of the Library is offering help for residents who want to make changes in their lives. The key to that process is finding a place to begin. The bookstore is offering a special sale called “New Beginnings.” Books on getting organized will be half-price, as well as books to learn a new language, craft, game or hobby.
The books for this special sale will be on the black cart on the patio and marked at half-price.
Residents might also consider volunteering. The results of a recent study that appeared in Social Science and Medicine in October 2025 indicates that “older adults who spent 100-200 hours a year volunteering or aiding others informally had higher memory and mental-processing scores than those who didn’t lend a hand.” The Friends of the Library is a great place to volunteer and there are other options in Leisure World.
