Tournament Poker Club to meet April 4 in Clubhouse 6 at 10 a.m.
Those who would like to play a fun and friendly game of Texas Hold ‘Em for a $5 buy-in can play with the Tournament Poker Club on Saturday, April 4, in Clubhouse 6. Regular tournaments are on the first three Saturdays of every month and start with registration at 10 a.m. Cards are in the air at 10:30. There is no late seating.
On March 21, the club had about 64 players ready to play and have a great time. High hand winners were: Dick Jones (6-10 flush), Kurt Bourhenne (7-7-7-7-10) and Scott Johnson (Q-Q-Q-6-6). Eileen Kotecki won a prize for playing and winning with the promo hand of 10-5.
As the winners of their original table, the final table players were: Lee Pfeifer, first place; Jones, second; Kathy Elliott, third; Franca Yeske, fourth; John Burns, fifth; George Casto, sixth; Bob Konier, seventh and Harold Morehead, eighth. Pfeifer won it all with A-2-3-4-5.
Pfeifer has lived in Leisure World for 15 years and has been a member of the poker club for 13 years. This was her 15th final table win. Besides tournament poker, Pfeifer plays cribbage and bocce ball here in Leisure World. She is also a competitive runner.
