LW Men’s Golf League

Twelve golfers of the LW Men’s Golf League were greeted with cold, fog and dampness at the Willowick Golf Course on March 23. At the 7:10 a.m. tee time, conditions were cool and fairways wet with some puddles due to overnight watering. The fairways and greens were in very good condition and improvements in the course are seen every time the league plays.

The players were somewhat stymied due the dampness and course length, with only four of the 12 golfers shooting net at or under par. Another indication of the course difficulty is that there were no birdies.

Closest to the pin on the 140-yard par 3 fourth hole was Clay Fisher, and on the 140-yard 12th hole was Tom Ross. Jim Goltra and Gary Stivers had fewest putts for the A flight, and Won Park had fewest in the B.

Net score equals gross minus handicap. A flight winners: Stivers, first place; Goltra and Seon Kim, second; Fisher and Jae Choi, third; Dave LaCascia, fourth; Sam Choi, fifth.

B flight winners: Park, first place; Bob Mun and Ross, second; Randy Massaro, third; Bruno Santillo, fourth.

The league plays every Monday at four local courses. Advance league reservations are required with a sign-up sheet available at each round.

There is a prize pool for each round that players are not obligated to enter.

Those interested in playing can contact Gary Stivers at 714-313-3697 or Dave LaCascia at 801-674-5975.
