Kang Yu-Mi, who had lived her life until now without knowing Jesus Christ, came to believe that Jesus is the Son of God following a neighbor’s encouragement after moving to Leisure World. Embracing this newfound assurance of salvation, she proceeded to receive the sacrament of baptism at a Leisure World Korean Community Church (LWKCC) service on March 29.

This was by no means a faithbased decision made lightly; rather, it was a time of grace that unfolded through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The baptismal service was conducted in a holy and grace-filled atmosphere, officiated by the Senior Pastor, Yong Jang-Young.

This baptism was not merely a formal ritual; it was a precious ceremony that allowed for a deep realization of the true meaning of salvation—specifically, the forgiveness of sins people have received through the work Jesus accomplished on the cross. It was a blessed occasion for grasping the depth of new life, casting off the “old self,” and resolving to live henceforth as a “new self.”

Following the baptismal service, the Senior Pastor delivered a sermon titled “Hosanna! Blessed Is He,” drawing his text from Mark 11:1–10. The Pastor explained that grace originates from spiritual realization, and that the depth of such realization deepens in proportion to the measure of each individual’s faith. He stated that as Christians live a life of grace through faith, that very grace will inevitably enable people to bear spiritual fruit.

Through this baptism ceremony and revival meeting, many members of the church experienced this as an occasion to reaffirm the fruits of their faith and to renew their spiritual commitments. Moreover, it provided a precious opportunity to realign their spiritual journeys toward the cross and to fix their gaze upon the Lord.

LWKCC holds a worship service on Sundays at the sanctuary at 11:30 a.m. at 14000 Church Place next to St. Andrews Gate. People can also come to the early morning prayer service Tuesday- Saturday at 6 a.m. For more information, call 714-323-0897.
