Concerned Shareholders

The Concerned Shareholders hosted GRF Security Director Victor Rocha at its March 26 meeting. Security operations were a central focus of the discussion. The community currently relies on a team of about 50 security officers who cover roughly 1,500 work hours, with a significant portion of those roles filled by part-time staff. On a typical day, nearly 4,000 vehicles pass through the gates, including approximately 1,000 visitors. Shareholders were reminded that the Seal Beach Police Department remains highly responsive, and that concerns can be reported anonymously. At the same time, ongoing scams targeting residents continue to be an issue, underscoring the need for vigilance and community awareness.

Much of the conversation centered on ways to improve both efficiency and visibility in security operations. Ideas included adjusting traffic flow at the main gate to better accommodate Del Monte shareholders and enhancing guest signage to make entry procedures more clear. Concerns were expressed about adequate presence in certain areas, including the RV lot and nearby streets, as well as how security vehicles are positioned throughout the community. Broader discussions also touched on scheduling practices and how staff time is allocated.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 23 at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
