First Christian Church

First Christian Church teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church, joining in worship and exploring God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

Palm Sunday is celebrated in Christian churches around the world to commemorate the day that Jesus entered Jerusalem. Many of his disciples had recognized that Jesus was the long-awaited messiah that had come to free people from oppression from leaders.

In Luke 4:18, Jesus quoted the book of Isaiah about himself, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”

As Jesus entered the city on a donkey, the people laid palm leaves on the ground in front of his path and began to praise God, shouting, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
