First Christian Church

First Christian Church teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church, joining in worship and exploring God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

This week’s message will be looking at Romans 14:112, “The Law of Liberty.” The apostle Paul is addressing several issues concerning passing judgement on the converts to the Christian faith. Paul used examples of acceptable things to eat and activities regarding the Sabbath. Paul explains the believers in the churches should not be condemned or judged by one another. All believers should accept the ones who are weak in faith because the Lord is able to do the work to make each person strong. Each person is responsible and must make decisions that are in accordance with their relationship with the Lord.

Paul is telling people of different cultures it was not necessary for all to conform to certain rules that had been strictly adhered to in the Jewish faith. The primary point is whatever is done should be done for the Lord, for believers do not live for themselves, and each person will give an account of himself to God.
