FIRE: 6

A resident reported that her oven caught fire and damaged her kitchen on Jan. 30.

A resident’s grill caught on fire and damaged unit’s patio area.
•Feb. 24, 6:13 p.m., Mutual 5
A resident burnt a pot on the stove; no damage to unit.
•Feb. 24, 3:38 p.m., Mutual 3
A resident burnt a pot on the stove. There was no fire, but the stove was damaged beyond repair.
•Feb. 25, 11:10 a.m., Mutual 4
A resident burnt a pot on the stove. There was only smoke in the unit, no fire or damage.
•Feb. 26, 9:06 a.m., Mutual 2
An electrical outlet fire started in the kitchen area; there was no damage to unit.
COYOTE SIGHTINGS: 32
•There were 32 coyote sightings reported this month.
MISDEMEANOR THEFT (less than $950 in value):
•Feb. 2, 4:16 p.m., Mutual 1
A resident stated an unknown person entered his unit and removed bananas and oranges. The fruit was later found in the unit.
•Feb. 3, 1:15 p.m., Mutual 9
A resident stated an unknown person removed food, damaged her cassette player and put itching powder on her bed.

An unknown person removed a resident’s grill from the patio area.
•Feb. 9, 6:30 p.m., Mutual 1
An unknown person removed a resident’s garden hose.

An unknown person defaced a photo in the pool room.

An unknown person cut the lock of a storage unit. No items were removed.

A resident stated he parked his vehicle and found it damaged 10 days later.

A resident driver fell asleep at the wheel and struck a bus bench.
•Feb. 7, 1:22 p.m., St. Andrews Drive Residents in moving vehicles collided.

Two moving vehicles collided; one vehicle fled the scene.
•Feb. 7, 5:05 a.m., Mutual 5
A resident left the driver’s side door open. Security advised the resident, who closed the door.
•Feb. 8, 1:04 p.m., 13281 Del Monte Drive A resident reported a golf cart came within inches of hitting her; later in the day, she contacted Security and stated another incident occurred where an SUV came within inches of hitting her. Seal Beach police arrived at the scene and cleared the scene with no report taken.
•Feb. 9, 1:30 p.m., Health Care Parking Lot A resident reported her vehicle was damaged by bushes when she drove into a parking space.
•Feb. 11, 8:23 p.m., Mayfield Road A resident drove up onto the curb and struck a parked vehicle.
•Feb. 13, 3:15 p.m., CH 4
A resident driving a vehicle struck another resident’s vehicle while entering the community.
•Feb. 14, 8:34 p.m., CH 2
Two vehicles backing out of parking spaces collided with each other.
•Feb. 27, 4:18 p.m., CH 3 Parking Lot An unknown person in a moving vehicle struck a resident’s parked vehicle and fled the scene.
•Feb. 27, 5:22 p.m., 13481 St. Andrews Drive An unknown person in a moving vehicle struck a resident’s parked vehicle and fled the scene.

A resident reported loud music in a neighboring unit. Security advised the neighbor, who reduced the volume.

A resident reported noise coming from an unknown source; no noise detected.

A resident reported paper chopping sounds from neighboring unit. Resident stated the noise continued, but no noise detected.

An unauthorized person was observed entering the community through the canal area and escorted out of the community.

A resident was in a verbal altercation over the use of the pool room.

A resident accused another resident of unauthorized entry into her unit.

A resident entered the Security Office wearing nothing but underwear. Police responded and took resident home.

A resident reported a Mutual director entered his porch area without permission.
•Feb. 21, 1:11 p.m., Billiards Room A resident reported ongoing harassment in the Pool Room.

A resident verbally abused attendant with obscene language.

A resident stated she smelled cleaning supplies inside the unit.

A resident stated her caregiver yelled and threatened her. The resident stated she would only talk to the police and called Seal Beach police for assistance with the issue.

A resident stated a neighbor
was smoking meth. There was no smell detected at the scene.

A resident reported a suspicious person near the NuVision ATM. No person was found upon Security’s arrival.
