LW Pool Club spring league season has begun
The Leisure World spring pool leagues began on Feb. 16, and Feb. 18. The Pool Club decided to make this a 15 week league instead of 10 weeks. That means the leagues will play every other team three times. With playoffs and sweepstakes, the two leagues will end the season on June 8.
Years ago, the Pool Club was all men. In the Monday night league there are six women players, and the Wednesday night league has five women. Each team consists of an A, B and C level player. Every player plays their corresponding opponent one game in eight ball and nine ball. Also, they play doubles with each of their partners in both eight ball and nine ball. To make sure there’s never a tie, each match is 13 games. The last game of the match is eight ball, with all three players on each team.
At the end of the second week of the Monday night league, BDG—which stands for Bruce, Dennis and Guta—are one game behind The Tumbleweeds and The Rustlers, who both have 16 wins and 10 losses.
In the Wednesday night league, The Favorites moved into second place behind The Pool Addicts by beating The Predators 8-5.
