LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

Residents are invited to attend a bus information session on Tuesday, March 10, at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby that will cover a variety of transportation options including taxi services, hospital/doctor appointment shuttles, and public buses.

Freedom of movement plays a crucial role in maintaining independence and remaining connected to the world.

Getting familiar with local transportation options makes it easier for people who have lost their ability to drive get to medical appointments, pick up groceries, take advantage of free support services, and explore the surrounding area.

The session will cover:

• Leisure World’s internal on-call bus system and appointmentbased, handicap-accessible access bus.

• How to get to grocery stores and shops using Seal Beach’s Dial-A-Ride taxi service (A city representative will be onsite to help people sign up for the program.)

• Transportation to the Seal Beach Senior Center

• Low-cost senior bus services in Orange County like Abrazar Inc.

• Round trip transportation to nearby hospitals (including Kaiser Permanente medical offices in Sand Canyon, UCI Health, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, the Long Beach VA, and more).

People are encouraged to bring their GRF cards and California IDs to register for services on site. Arrive early, as space is limited.

Live closed captions will be provided. For more information, call Sharon Kohn at 562-881-1969.
