GUYS AND GALS TOURNAMENT
A bright winter morning greeted 55 golfers of the Guys and Gals Golf Tournament on Feb. 18 at the Turtle Lake Golf Course. The tournament was sponsored by Primary Care Associates of CA in Cypress, with Network Development Specialist Emanuel Alvarez paying for each player’s entry fee and providing coffee, doughnuts, candy and golf balls to the players. Alton Smith Jr. of SCAN offered information on changing Medicare conditions.
Thetournamentwaschanged to a team shotgun/scramble with groups of five or six. The course drained reasonably well after overnight rains, but wind, damp greens and muddy areas on fairways kept short shots from rolling at all.
Each team competed for best net scores, four circle holes, and two closest to the pin challenges. Closest to the pin for the men on No. 8 was Fujio Norihiro and on No. 17 it was Scott Tuchfarber. For the women it was Grace Choi and Bert Thompson. Mike Mayfield scored a hole-in-one on the 100-yard par 3 first hole. There were two circle holes.
