LW Baptist Church meets for worship on Sundays at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

This week, the church will celebrate the salvation that enables people to come to God in prayer through the only means he has provided, and that means is through the intercession of his son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus himself said it: “No one comes to the Father but by me.”

The reason people need the intercessor is because they are sinners and are unable to come into the holy presence of God without judgment. The world cries for peace. But in relation to one another and especially to God, people often consider their differences irreconcilable. The Bible says this coldness, this sin, separates people from God and also from one another. And people are unwilling to confess and forsake sin. So, God has provided a mediator between mankind and himself, to draw people to himself. The one and only mediator is the man Christ Jesus; he, the God-man, is the bridge between God and mankind. Once people are reconciled to God through Christ, they can point others to Christ the mediator.
