Community Church Community Church

Community Church observed Ash Wednesday on Feb. 18 with glitter instead of ashes. Most people are more familiar with the season of Lent as a time of fasting and prayer—and while fish Fridays is always a good idea, in recent years many people in the church have begun looking to take something on, rather than give something up.

While there are far more people outside the church than in it these days, Pastor Johan Dodge believes that the Holy Spirit is active in the lives of all of God’s creations—not just the ones who come to church. The exodus from churches around the world likely means the church has something to learn from those who have left, those who “just can’t believe that anymore.”

This season, Community Church will take a critical look at what have been taught to believe and asking each other: “What it mean to be a child of God, and a follower of the way of Jesus in the world today?”

Those looking for a message of encouragement can join the Sunday service at 9:30 a.m. at 14000 Church Place. Come early for a cup of coffee and stay after for a time of light refreshment. Each service is filled with beautiful music and a positive progressive message. No prior church experience is required. All are welcome who are welcoming to all.

Rev. Johan Dodge
