The LW Democratic Club will welcome California State Assembly (District 72) candidate Chris Kluwe on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. Kluwe, a former NFL punter and prominent civil rights advocate, will discuss his 2026 legislative platform and his commitment to protecting public institutions. Known for his recent advocacy regarding First Amendment rights and library autonomy in Huntington Beach, Kluwe will address key issues facing the 72nd District and the broader California landscape. Following his presentation, there will be an opportunity for a question-and-answer session. Members and guests are invited to arrive as early as 12:45 p.m. to socialize; light refreshments will be provided.

Indivisible’s next “No Kings,” day is March 28, titled “No Thrones, No Crowns, No King.” Indivisible says that “A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to deescalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.”

People can go to www.Indivisible.org/Groups, to find local chapters and Indivisible.org/Resource/Guide to read Indivisible’s “Practical Guide to Democracy on the Brink,” which outlines their strategy for the 2026 elections.

People can also join other resident protestors each Saturday (weather permitting), from 2-3 p.m. under the LW globe.
