Members who attended the LW Democratic Club’s meeting on Jan. 28 were treated to an engaging and informative session featuring Congressman Robert Garcia. Addressing a standing-room-only crowd, Garcia covered a vast range of topics: from his aggressive pursuit of the Epstein files and oversight of ICE staff to the latest updates from the White House, offering a comprehensive look at the current political landscape.

The atmosphere was notably personal, as many of LW Democratic members are former Long Beach residents who remember Garcia fondly from his tenure as their mayor. This “hometown” connection was felt throughout the room, with the audience offering a spirited welcome and actively absorbing his vision for the future.

During the meeting, Garcia prioritized personal connection, greeting guests with warmth and staying to answer as many questions as possible. His reassuring message and approachable demeanor earned him many new supporters within the club. The club is grateful Garcia shared his insights that left members feeling both inspired and deeply connected to the broader Democratic mission. Known for his recent advocacy regarding First Amendment rights and library autonomy in Huntington Beach, Kluwe will address key issues facing the 72nd District and the broader California landscape. Following his presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions. Members and guests are invited to arrive as early as 12:45 p.m. to socialize; light refreshments will be provided.
