DANCERS & MIXERS CLUB

The Dancers & Mixers Club dance is Tuesday, Feb. 3, in Clubhouse 4 from 7-9 p.m.

The club dances to live ballroom dance music provided by musician Linda Herman.

Dancing ballroom has so many advantages: it’s been called the “kale of exercise.” For example, it helps maintain one’s sense of balance as they age.

More importantly, it is fun. Herman doesn’t just play swing tunes, but a whole raft of different kinds of music.

Amateur dancers are welcome. Everyone can do the “senior step,” which is just shifting weight from one foot to the other.

Those who’d like to learn dances in a more formal setting can explore LW’s many dance classes. The Dancers & Mixers club was formed in the 1980s. There’s no charge to attend, although donations are accepted. People are encouraged to bring their own snacks and drinks, plus some to share. For more information, call 562-431-1257.
