Concerned Shareholders Club
The Concerned Shareholders Club welcomed Jodi Hopkins from the LW Stock Transfer Office on Jan. 22.
Hopkins outlined the many duties performed by the Stock Transfer staff, including corporate file management, daily computer data entry, escrow transfers, emergency contact information, power of attorney processing, transfer of title, monthly escrow reports, member certificates, financial reports, caregiver and pet registration, leasing units, and ID card replacements.
Hopkins answered a variety of member questions pertaining to title transfers, attorney fees, options for paying the TPUF fee, and other related issues. She spoke of an option to pay TPUF fees over a sevenyear term. Upon the death of a resident, the remaining TPUF balance would be paid in full.
Hopkins also spoke about the upcoming election for GRF directors representing even-numbered Mutuals. Assistance is requested for candidate recruitment, flyer distribution, and placement of get-out-the-vote signs.
Afterward, club members suggested questions for the upcoming town hall meeting with GRF Executive Director David Norvell, including:
• What fees are being paid to the Community Associations Institute organization?
• Why are contractors not consistently following the hours-of-operation rule?
•What steps are being taken to reduce management payroll costs?
• How are contractor bids being handled?
• Will a project manager be assigned in the future?
• Concerns regarding inadequate microphones at committee meetings.
• Issues with variance reports presented at committee meetings. Norvell will join the next meeting on Thursday, Feb. 26, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1 p.m.
