Sunshine Club

Dr. Hilary C. Siebens, MD, will give a presentation titled “Ageism, Your Health, and Health Care” to the Sunshine Club on Friday Jan. 23, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m.

Note that the original meeting with GRF Executive Director David Norvell has been moved to Friday, Jan. 30, in Clubhouse 4 at 10 a.m.

Dr. Siebens organized a oneday event last year titled “Ageism in Health Care” based on her own experiences providing care to older adults. Participants at the event agreed the topic needs greater attention. Therefore, she will present an interactive session on how the term ageism arose, its effects on individuals’ health, and its pervasiveness in health care.

Dr. Siebens went to Harvard Medical School and trained in internal medicine, geriatrics, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Her career has included clinical research on exercise in older adults, care management in Parkinson’s, and improving communication among individuals, their physicians, and other health care professionals. She is the founder of Siebens Patient Care Communications LLC.

All shareholders are welcome to join this meeting. Sunshine Club requires no membership fees, but donations are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
