Presidents’ Council Meeting Recap
Clubhouse 4 and Zoom Tele-Video Conference
The regular monthly meeting of the Presidents’ Council of Leisure World Seal Beach was convened at 1:30 p.m. by President Rich Carson on Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Clubhouse 4 and via Zoom tele-video conference and YouTube Live.
The following is a recap:
• Presidents’ Council meeting minutes of Nov. 5 were approved by the Council as written.
• GRF President Linda Herman provided an update on the GRF committee meetings. She also acknowledged the holiday festivities in the community and thanked the Recreation and Service Maintenance departments for the in-house holiday decorating. Herman also informed the council about the upcoming community forum/Town Hall meeting Jan. 30, in Clubhouse 4, from 2-4 p.m. She added that Executive Director David Norvell will also be in attendance to provide information and answer questions.
• Guest speakers Elizabeth Denney and Kim Aufrecht provided information on Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) fire safety community education and outreach programs. They also informed the council about the American Red Cross and OCFA partnership.
• IT Director Marcelo Mario provided information on CINC regarding the reorganization of documents on that platform.
• Physical Property Manager Kevin Black provided an update on the current pavement project in the community. He also provided information on pest control contract and sewer cleaning contract.
• Senior Director of Facilities Mark Weaver provided information on the multifamily energy savings program.
• Senior Director of Mutual Administration Jodi Hopkins provided an update on the Stock Transfer escrow report.
• Senior Portfolio Specialist Ripa Barua informed the council members that the elections begin this month starting with Mutual 7 call for candidates beginning Jan. 23. Barua also informed the council that electronic voting for elections will be available to all mutuals.
• Executive Director David Norvell introduced himself to the Presidents’ Council.
• ExecutiveManagerDavePotter informed the council of the community forum/ Town • Hall on Jan. 30 and provided information on tax mailers.
• Next council meeting: Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 1:30 p.m., at Clubhouse 4 and via Zoom tele-video conference and YouTube Live.
