Assembly of God

Drivers have become dependent upon GPS to navigate unfamiliar routes. Unfortunately, the directions occasionally lead into a lake or wilderness, much to the bewilderment of the user. The same rule holds true with GPS as with maps: the directions are only as reliable as the accuracy of the information used to create them. God has given his word, the Bible, as a believer’s navigation system for life. Unlike maps and GPS created by input from humans, God’s word is infallible and completely reliable. 1 Peter 3:10-12 gives specific directions to those whose goal is a successful year in all areas of life. Pastor Chuck Franco’s sermon for this Sunday’s worship service is titled, “A Map for the New Year.”

The Bible study will delve into the second session of the “Book of James” on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. James is writing to believers who have fled Jerusalem because of persecution and encouraging them to live transformed lives. Francis Chan’s video teaching is followed by student interaction and a closer look at the scripture.
