Phase 2 of flood channel fence replacement to start

Work to begin replacing the chain link fence along Golden Rain Road is set to begin on Jan. 5. New fencing will be installed on east- and westbound Golden Rain Road from Cedar Crest Lane to El Dorado Drive.

From Jan. 5-9, J& J Landscaping will remove foliage along the fenceline. From Jan. 12-Feb. 12, Irvine Fence will install new fencing.

The GRF Board approved the project to replace a half mile of fence for $96,900 and to remove the landscaping around the fence for a cost of $11,000.

This is the second phase of an ongoing project that is already funded in reserves.

Leisure World's flood control channel, officially called the Federal Storm Channel, will get new fencing in phase 2 of an ongoing project.
