Humanist Association

The Leisure World Humanist Association will meet on Sunday, Jan. 3, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, at 10:30 a.m.

The meeting will be about health care, since the bill that goes into effect in a few weeks will increase the cost of health care for many seniors. The club will show a half-hour film that will describe in detail why the American healthcare system is the most expensive in the world and why it is the leading cause of bankruptcy in the country. After the film, the group will discuss what can be done to improve a broken system.

Humanists believe health care should be a universal right as it is in most advanced countries in the world. Health care for all citizens is a political problem that can and should be solved. Everyone is welcome to attend.
