Assembly of God

LW Assemby of God looks forward to Christmas with this week’s sermon, “Jesus Came to Bring Good News,” from Luke 2:8-20 on Sunday, Dec. 21. Conventional wisdom says good news travels fast. With the advent of the internet, bad news travels just as fast. One’s outlook is dependent upon one’s input. Focusing on bad news produces anxiety, desperation and hopelessness. Focusing on good news brings peace, confidence and hope. Jesus is the good news of Christmas. When one’s focus is on Jesus, the trials of life are put in proper perspective: challenging, but not insurmountable. This is a sermon to encourage those who are having trouble experiencing the joy of the Christmas season, and to celebrate with those who are experiencing joy at its fullest.

The Wednesday Bible study is on break for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. A new study will begin on Jan. 7. LW Assembly of God meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
