LW Assembly of God will begin a three-week celebration of Christmas with sermons related to the birth of Jesus, why he came, and the difference his coming makes in people’s lives with a series titled “Jesus Came to Bring a Blessing,” based on the first chapter of the book of Luke. This chapter sets the tone for the rest of the series leading up to Christmas. The church will sing hymns of the season each week to refocus attention on the true meaning of Christmas,and the reason to have joy amid any circumstance.

Wednesday Bible study, “What Does the Bible Say?” continues with “How is this Story about Jesus?” Dr. Sharon Hodde Miller leads students to discover Jesus in every place in the Bible. There is no inconsistency, and nowhere God does not appear. All roads lead to Jesus being God’s only plan for redeeming a broken relationship with fallen people, bringing hope and eternal life.
