Gov. Gavin Newsom has a new ad out indicating that enough money has been raised to meet the yes on Prop. 50’s fiscal goals. At this point the vote is over, and the people of California await the results of the special election. The LW Democratic Club thanks its team of canvassers who tirelessly knocked on doors and helped people understand why there was a special election and how important each vote is.
Defiance.org is a relatively new club organized to help people who ask, “What can I do?” Its website states, “We built a club to answer that question. Each month, we give you options to fight back—peacefully, lawfully and defiantly—against an authoritarian takeover. You choose what missions to support.”
The next major Indivisible rally is in Seal Beach at Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street as a Veterans Day rally on Saturday, Nov. 8, from noon-3 p.m.
Residents of Leisure World hold their own “organic” demonstrations each Saturday at the globe from 2-3 p.m. There are also Freedom Rallies every Sunday at the Irvine City Hall from 2-4 p.m.
The Democratic Club membership meetings are held the fourth Wednesday each month in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. People can come early and bring a lunch; light snacks are served.
Due to the holidays, there are some changes to the membership meeting timetable. The regularly scheduled meeting for Nov. 26, is moved to the following week which is Dec. 3. The December membership meeting is canceled.
During November, the Democratic Club’s Hospitality Booth will be open every Tuesday and the third Thursdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. next to Clubhouse 6. People are welcome to stop by and visit with like-minded individuals, register to vote, change address, or change party affiliation. Volunteers are available to assist and answer questions.
